Miromico AG has launched World’s smallest LoRaWAN Module with footprint of just 8.6 x 9.3 mm.

The LoRa® FMLR RF modules are equipped with the latest software “LoRa Basics™ MAC”. Power consumption of the nodes can be optimized to run from a small-sized battery, while the integrated radio allows the system to operate in a duty-cycled manner.
The integrated MAXIM’s Arm® Cortex®-M4 based MAX32625/26 microcontroller runs the entire RF stack and has sufficient resources available for the integration of additional applications.
The system can easily be extended with additional sensors on an external carrier board to build an IoT sensor network.
The module can be used with FMLR-MA62x-Daughterboard to seamlessly fit into the FMLR family providing the same footprint and pin compatibility. The daughterboard adds U-FL RF antenna connector, external flash and various sensors. All FMLR modules are prepared for seamless integration into LoRaWAN®.
The LoRaWAN software stack is available as an open source solution which runs on the integrated microcontroller.

To provide backward compatible upgrade for grown products and systems, the FMLR family supports additional modulation schemes over LoRa like (G)FSK, (G)MSK, ASK, and OOK. The modules also allow the emulation of proprietary systems such as Nordic NRF905 or NRF9E5 with enhanced coverage range.
For faster and easy development firmware can be updated via OTA, UART or SWD.
Specification / Key benefits
- Compact LoRaWAN IoT Module
- Optional integrated antenna
- Line-of-sight range of 100 km possible
- Runs customer specific applications and existing radio stacks
- Exceptionally high security standards
It is very useful for application which needs low data rate but long range. Very long range LOS(line-of-sight) is possible using external high gain antenna.
