Raspberry Pi Zero Compatible Orange Pi Zero 2W

Orange Pi has released a new Raspberry Pi Zero compatible hardware, Orange Pi Zero 2W. It is exactly same form factor, mounting holes, 40 Pin standard connector.

This is not the only Raspberry Pi Zero compatible hardware released in the market, there are couple of other available as well.

Compared to Raspberry Pi Zero, the Orange Pi Zero 2W comes with a much better spec from processor and RAM options. It is a small board yet quite powerful. Additionally, It also gives you possibility to add Ethernet, USB ports, IR, Power Buttons, Audio interface via expansion connector.

Orange Pi Zero 2W is built with the Allwinner H618 high-performance quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, which can run up to 1.5GHz. It also features the Mali G31 MP2 graphics processor, with support for OpenGL ES 1.0/2.0/3.2, OpenCL 2.0, and Vulkan 1.1.

It has 1GB /1.5GB / 2GB /4GB LPDDR4 RAM options and also supports 16MB SPI Flash (on the bottom side) other than SD card.

For connectivity it has Wi-Fi5, BT5.0, with BLE support.

Orange Pi Zero 2W can be extended with USB2.0, 100M Ethernet, IR receiver, audio output, TV-out, power button, etc. via 24Pin connector with adapter board.

In addition, the 40Pin expansion port on the board further enriches the boards functional interfaces and enhances the use case where it could be deployed.

Orange Pi Zero 2W is fully compatible with mechnical design concept of the Raspberry Pi Zero series boards, with a PCB size of 30mm X 65mm X 1.2mm.

Orange Pi Zero 2W supports Android 12 TV, Debian11, Debian12, Ubuntu22.04, Ubuntu20.04 ,Orange Pi OS(Arch), etc.

Orange Pi Zero 2W Optional Expansion Board

You will get an Ethernet Jack, 2x USB 2.0 Ports, a 3.5mm Audio Jack, One Power ON/OFF Button, 2x Keys which can be used for anything in the user application, One Power LED, and an IR sensor is also included on the board for IR Remote control.

This board connects with the Orange Pi Zero 2W board via a 24-pin FCC cable. This board greatly enhances the possibilities of the different use cases where Orange Pi Zero 2W board could be used.
