I saw an LED driver in my office and thought of opening it to see what is there inside. Mainly was used for decorative LED strip.
It take AC input an drives LED strip directly.


Basically AC input is first rectified with a bridge rectifier(MB6S) and a bulk capacitor and then fed to a PWM LED driver which gives constant current output.

PWM LED Driver IC used is PL3536 from PowerLink Microelectronics China.
There was no EMI filter or MOV protection of any sort. Just a Fuse wire is soldered directly on the PCB.
