Teardown: Wipro 9W Smart LED Bulb

Today, I did a teardown of Wipro 9W Smart LED Bulb which has Wi-Fi connectivity for dimming and color control and wanted to share all the images I took which reveals a lot about interesting details , how the smart bulb was designed.

I did not use the bulb that much, I was more curious of what is inside

It is always great to see how different companies are designing products, their choice of microcontrollers, ICs and the over all construction.

You learn a lot by looking at someone else design, you get to know their perspective.

Here you go.

1 / 23

Various ICs used in the LED Bulb are:

MB10F: Bridge Rectifier Diode

BP1638: 3-channel PWM dimmable Linear constant current LED driver

BP2513D: Non-isolated CCCV driver IC

BP2306: Dimmable Non-isolated APFC Buck LED Driver

BP8516: Not able to find the datasheet.

BP5926: PWM LED Driver

WB3L: Tuya Wi-Fi Module (using BEKEN BK7231)

To be honest I think this design is quite complicated especially from Power side.

I did see Halonix LED bulb also, it doesn’t have 5 ICs but only two. teardown of that in a future blog 🙂

Hope you have enjoyed the teardown pictures and learned something new.

If you have any further question you ask in the comments section, I will try to respond as soon as possible.
